Graduation ball for school-leavers was held in Lenin’s Square in Novogrudok on June 9.
The prom party is a holiday of youth, beauty and friendship, cordial congratulations. And it’s the festival of music and dancing, the evening of ball dresses and elegant costumes.
The event started with a traditional procession of school-leavers from the House of Consumer Services to the town’s square. Former school-children were walking in pairs, holding their hands as if in childhood. Nearby there were parents and teachers.
Honorable guests of the event were the chairman of the Novogrudok District Executive Committee Mr. Anatoly Markevich, the chairman of the District Council of Deputies Mr.Sergey Misharin, the deputies of the chairman of the district executive committee, the heads of departments and sectors of the district executive committee, the chairmen of the district public associations, clergy, heads of enterprises and organizations of the district, etc.
Graduates of Novogrudok district are young people who honor and preserve good traditions of the Belarusian people. As a token of their love to native town and in gratitude for their carefree childhood, the graduates presented bread and salt to the chairman of the district executive committee Mr. Anatoly Markevich.
In return the members of the Novogrudok District executive committee presented school-leavers with the musical greeting.
42 graduates were awarded by academic medals for excellence. They also received cash prizes from enterprises and organizations of the town and district.
The deputies of the Youth Parliament at the Novogrudok District Council of Deputies, graduates who took an active part in various district, religious outreach events were also awarded with diplomas, prizes and gifts.
In memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, many flowers were laid to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.
The first graders, principals of educational institutions and many guests of the event gave musical congratulations to the graduates on this day.
The last chord of childhood and the first note of adulthood were dozens of colorful balloons bursting into the sky. Beautiful couples danced a graduation waltz.
After the event in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral and St. Michael the Archangel’s Cathedral prayer services took place.
